What is a conversation to action agent?
Last updated July 29, 2026
A conversation to action agent is software that listens to your work conversations and produces the work itself: drafted emails, tickets, messages, and documents in the tools you already use, ready for you to review and send. Instead of a transcript to read later, you get the finished work. Audria is built as one, for teams that work from office.
Why a new category
AI notetakers solved recording. A bot joins your video call, transcribes it, and mails everyone a summary. The transcript is accurate, and the work it describes still does not exist. The ticket someone described in standup still has to be filed by a person. The follow-up email still has to be written. Summaries pile up precisely because they are homework: another document about work, instead of the work.
A conversation to action agent closes that gap. The unit of output is not a summary. It is a draft of the actual artifact: the Jira ticket with a title and description, the Slack message to the right person, the email ready to send, the calendar hold. Spoken commitments become executed work.
What qualifies
Four properties separate a conversation to action agent from a notetaker:
- It drafts in your tools. Output lands as a ready-to-send draft in Gmail, Slack, Jira, Linear, or Confluence, not as a bullet point in a summary document.
- Every draft carries its source. The exact words the action came from are attached, so you can verify in seconds that the ticket says what was decided.
- A human confirms. Nothing is sent automatically. The agent drafts, the person reviews, edits if needed, and approves. Confirm-before-send is what makes agentic drafting trustworthy at work.
- It understands people, not just words. Actions get assigned to the real teammate who owns them, in their real accounts, because the agent knows who said what.
How Audria implements it
Audria is the agentic AI notetaker for teams that work from office: it turns office conversations into completed actions in your tools, understands every person on your team, and makes your Claude or ChatGPT an expert on your work.
You start it once when you reach the office. It captures the work that happens in person, from standups and whiteboard sessions to desk-side reviews and meeting-room discussions, and the Mac app captures online meetings as well, with no meeting bot. Commitments become drafts in your tools, each person gets a living page of what was discussed and what you owe each other, and your Claude or ChatGPT gets the decisions, caveats, and constraints from your day, plus ready-made prompts and the right skills for the task.
Conversation to action agent vs AI notetaker
| AI notetaker | Conversation to action agent | |
|---|---|---|
| Primary output | Transcript and summary | Drafted actions in your tools |
| What happens after the meeting | You read, then do the work | You review drafts, then approve |
| Who gets what | Everyone gets the same summary | Each person gets the actions that are theirs |
| Scope | Scheduled meetings a bot can join | Conversations, wherever they happen |
| Human control | Not applicable, nothing is actionable | Nothing is sent automatically |
Common questions
Is a conversation to action agent the same as an AI assistant?
No. An assistant waits for instructions. A conversation to action agent works from what your team already said: the commitments were made out loud, and the agent drafts them without being asked.
Does it replace my AI notetaker?
For most teams it absorbs the job. Audria produces notes too, but notes are a byproduct. The point is the drafted work.
